One Simple Truth
To Rest Is To Trust.
Scripture
Exodus 34:21 ESV (Read the Full Chapter Here)
“Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest. In plowing time and in harvest you shall rest.
As the Creator of our bodies and minds, the Lord knows what is best for us. He knows that we need to pause from our labor, in many ways to “be still and know that He is God.” There are many hurdles in the heart of mankind to rest. One of them is a matter of trust. There is always more work that could be done. Some carry the mindset that if they are not always working, there will not be enough. For some that could be a sign that we are living far above our means and need to make some changes. For others, maybe it means that we need to deepen our trust that the Lord will take care of us if we prioritize what is important to Him. To rest is to trust.
Prayer
Mighty God, you are my provider. This week I will prioritize a day of rest. I trust you with my body, my mind, and my finances. In Jesus name, amen.
