One Simple Truth
The will of the Father is the will that we want.
Scripture
Mark 14:36 ESV (Read the Full Chapter Here)
And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
Jesus continually modeled for us the life of a man in full submission to the Father. I believe for us, more than Himself, He proclaims that God holds all power; that if there is another way forward to accomplish the Fathers plan, that door can be opened, but Jesus is more concerned with obedience than comfort. He entrusts Himself and the domino effect of His obedience, in the grand plan of God’s redemptive work on earth, to the Father. The will of the Father is good, wise, and eternal; the will of the Father is the will that we want.
Prayer
Abba, Your ways can be trusted. You know the end from the beginning. We put our will in its proper place today, at Your feet. Your will is the will that we want. In Jesus name, amen.
