Pound of Grace

One Simple Truth
With every ounce of suffering there is a pound of grace.

And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Scripture consistently ties the theme of suffering with the theme of eternity; it ties temporal with eternal. The reason for this is because suffering can feel so long and so unfair; it can be hard to see a world beyond suffering when you’re in the midst of it. What’s also tied in is the theme of grace; a strength supplied in the temporal by the God of the eternal. With every ounce of suffering there is a pound of grace. Through it all, and most assuredly in the end, Christ Himself will restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you in eternal glory.

Prayer
God of all grace, I entrust my life into Your hands today. No matter what comes my way I lean into Your grace and You will see me through. In Jesus name, amen.
