Greatness

One Simple Truth
To be truly great we must forget about being great.

The greatest among you shall be your servant.

The Kingdom of God is not upside down, we are. The created order, if unstained by sin, would be one of mutual service to one another, of personal sacrifice for the common good, of looking not only to our own interests, but to the interests of others. How do we know? Because this is the life that Jesus modeled. This is the life that we, as His followers and disciples, are called to emulate. To be truly great we must forget about being great. True greatness is found in our focus on serving our brother and sister. How are you practicing servanthood today?

Prayer
Lord, today my focus is not on being great, but being a servant. Help me to seize opportunities to serve my spouse, my children, my friends, and my neighbor that they may see You through me. In Jesus name, amen.
