One Simple Truth
The arrogance of man will find its end.
Scripture
Psalm 49:10 ESV (Read the Full Chapter Here)
For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others.
This Psalm uses the phrase “man in his pomp” several times, which carries this idea of arrogance in our own splendor or wealth. Man in his pomp believes that he can control all aspects of life, that all he has was obtained through his own strength and brilliance, that he is accountable to none other than himself. Man in his pomp ignores the common grace of God that he has, unknowingly, benefited from each day that he has been allowed to breathe. Man in his pomp blindly drives forward into perceived achievement and also certain judgment. The arrogance of man will find its end.
Prayer
Our Father in heaven, I am not in control, You are. I lay down my pride today, submitting all that I am to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Amen.
